The Montaukila Margarita Recipe (Warning: Highly Addictive)
Our House Recipe. Use Responsibly. Or Irresponsibly. We Don’t Judge.
The internet is full of “perfect margarita” recipes written by people who don’t actually drink tequila. This one is written by people who do.
This is our go-to Montauk Margarita — bright, balanced, crushable, and dangerously easy to make. No neon mixers, no syrup bottles with cartoon citrus drawings — just real ingredients and Montaukila Blanco doing what it does best.
What You’ll Need
- 2 oz Montaukila Blanco (duh)
- 3 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz agave syrup
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 1 oz fresh-squeezed orange juice
Pro tip: If you’re using bottled lime juice from the grocery store, you’re doing this wrong.
Assembly
- Add everything into a shaker with ice
- Shake like you’re trying to impress someone
- Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass
- Salt rim optional (but recommended)
- Garnish with a lime wheel
- Admire your work for 0.8 seconds before drinking
Why This Marg Slaps
Most margaritas lean too sour, too sweet, or too tequila-forward (which yes, is a thing).
This one balances perfectly because:
- Lime provides structure
- Orange adds brightness
- Agave rounds the edges
- Cointreau lifts the aromatics
- Montaukila Blanco keeps it clean, crisp, and honest
It tastes like summer even if it’s January in New York.
Want It Spicy?
Add a couple jalapeño slices to the shaker and let them sit for 30–60 seconds before shaking. Tajín rim optional (but recommended if you want that snap).
Drink Math
- 1 of these = “Wow that’s good”
- 2 of these = “We should open a bar”
- 3 of these = “We really shouldn’t open a bar”
Drink responsibly… or at least drink respectably.
If your favorite bar or restaurant doesn’t carry Montaukila, ask them. We distribute through RNDC in New York, and they can order us just like any other spirit.
